Rules: ASSA Smallbore Rifle Rules
Eligibility: Open to all competitors
Entries: Entries are limited to 100 competitors which is the capacity of the range for the time allotted. All entries are requested in advance. If range space is available, entries will be accepted onsite.
Squadding: Competitors will be assigned a definite relay and target by the Statistical Office. Failure to report on the proper relay or firing point forfeits the right to fire. All entries must be made before firing commences in the match.
Challenges: Competitors may challenge the value of doubtful shot holes in accordance with procedures detailed in Section 12 of the ASSA Rule Book. Challenge fee is $3.00 per match. All fired targets will be retained until the challenge period has ended, which is 30 minutes after the posting of the preliminary results.
Ties: Ties will be broken by the method prescribed in Section 11 of the ASSA Smallbore Rifle Rule Book.
Coaching: No coaching on the firing line is allowed during individual matches (Rule 5.9).
Targets: Competitors will be responsible for hanging their own targets and supplying their own target clips.
Sighting Shots: Competitors may fire unlimited sighting shots before and/or during record firing (Rule 5.3).
Preparation Time: There will be a 3-minute preparation period before the first stage and a 1-minute preparation period before the second stage (Rule 6.8). There will be a 20-minute change over period between positions.

Teams will be comprised of two individuals who meet the requirements of Rule 4.6.4.
Advance payment is requested via the St. Joseph Valley Rifle & Pistol Club website. If paying onsite, exact payment or a check made payable to the St. Joseph Valley Rifle & Pistol Association is required to satisfy payment.
Categories: Civilian (4.6.2.3), Collegiate (4.6.2.5), Senior (4.6.3.1), Intermediate Senior (4.6.3.2), Junior (4.6.3.3), Intermediate Junior (4.6.3.4), Sub Junior (4.6.3.5).
Classification: Each competitor will be placed in one class according to the ASSA Classification System (Rule 15.1) Current NRA Classification will be recognized. Unclassified competitors will fire in the Master Class if they do not have an assigned classification.
Awards: Provided by the St. Joseph Valley Rifle & Pistol Association
Place Awards: Individual Matches
Winner – with at least 5 total competitors
2nd Place – with at least 10 total competitors
3rd Place – with at least 15 total competitors
Class Awards: Individual Matches
Awards will be given in Master, Expert, Sharpshooter, and Marksman classes. When there are less than the minimum number of competitors within the class, competitors will move up a class until the minimum is met.
1st in Class – minimum of 3 competitors
2nd in Class – minimum of 6 competitors
3rd in Class – minimum of 9 competitors
Note: An individual winning a place award will not be entitled to a class award in the same match. Such class awards will be passed down to the next eligible individual.
Category Awards: Match 5 & 11 only
Winner – The highest scoring competitor for each category will receive an award for categories with a minimum of 2 competitors in that category.
Camping: The range has adequate space for camping, with electric hookup. There are washrooms with flush toilets and showers. Advance notice is required to camp at the range. A $10 donation is suggested per night.
